Unfortunately I had to ditch the cool ranma background for the time beeing due to the heavy loading but I´ve gotten the drop down menus to work and added loads of links.. Hope someone enjoys :-)

First, the way Japanese refer to themselves is different from us. They point to their noses in a gesture that's likely to evoke laughter from us. Whereas we normally point to our chest when referring to ourselves.

A raised pinky refers to one's girlfriend. To make this gesture with a questioning glance would mean, "Are you going out with your girlfriend tonight?"

The sentence "Next year I am going to Canada" translates to "rainen watashi wa kanada ni ikimasu". This could be written entirely in kana:



A Japanese, however, would use kanji where possible:
